The 2026 Impreza is available with the choice of two direct-injection SUBARU BOXER^® engines. On the Convenience and Touring trim levels, the engine is a naturally aspirated 2.0L 4-cylinder. Meanwhile, the naturally aspirated 2.5L 4-cylinder powers the RS trim level. Both engines feature advanced technologies such as Dual Active Valve Control and the latest weight-saving measures. These engines offer superior efficiency, low emissions, crisp acceleration and remarkable driver engagement. Both engines are linked to the Lineartronic^® CVT and, on the Touring trim level and above, further governed by the SI-DRIVE^®  engine management system with its eco-friendly Intelligent (I) and ultra-responsive Sport (S) modes.

The 2026 Impreza features a spacious cabin with plenty of room for five adults. Rear-seat passengers have ample legroom and space under the front seats to place their feet. The 60/40-split folding rear seats fold flatter than ever and appear flush at the split, creating up to 1586 litres of cargo space—one of the largest among other mainstream compact hatchbacks.

Available on the Touring trim level and above, SRVD utilizes sensors to detect other vehicles and obstacles nearby. Marked by LED indicators mounted on the side mirror surround, the system has three distinct functions engineered for higher levels of safety. Blind Spot Detection identifies vehicles approaching from behind the C-pillars and in other blind spots. Lane Change Assist detects fast-approaching vehicles approaching from behind and in adjacent lanes. Lastly, when backing up, Rear Cross Traffic Alert signals if vehicles or pedestrians are approaching from either side of the vehicle.
