SUBARU BOXER^® Engine

The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek s equipped with the legendary direct-injection SUBARU BOXER^® engine. The naturally aspirated 2.5L 4-cylinder engine also feature advanced technologies such as Dual Active Valve Control and the latest weight-saving measures. These factors combine to create increased efficiency, reduced emissions, improved acceleration and heightened driver engagement. It is also linked to the Lineartronic CVT and further governed by the SI-DRIVE^® engine management system with its eco-friendly Intelligent (I) and more responsive Sport (S) mode.

Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) + Active Torque Vectoring

All versions of the Crosstrek feature VDC^  and Active Torque Vectoring as standard equipment. VDC utilizes sensors to monitor and analyze if the vehicle is following the driver’s intended course. When approaching the limits of stability, VDC automatically adjusts the engine output, braking force at each wheel and torque distribution of the AWD system to keep the vehicle on-course. Active Torque Vectoring applies braking force to the inside front wheel and distributes more engine torque to the outside front wheel in corners, bringing added cornering capability into sharp focus. These systems create the feeling of added security and increased confidence under all possible scenarios.
