Technology
The Outback is available with three efficient and capable versions of the Lineartronic® CVT, one linked to the 2.5-L 4-cylinder engine and the other two paired with the turbocharged 2.4-L 4-cylinder engine. These transmissions have been refined for greater efficiency, reduced noise and heightened driveability. Each drivetrain is fully integrated into the Subaru Symmetrical Full-Time AWD system to create unsurpassed levels of control and confidence under all possible conditions. These drivetrains give the Outback the superior performance of a full-time AWD utility with the fuel efficiency of a front-wheel drive vehicle.
Interior
Although the 2025 Outback is rugged to the core, it’s also surprisingly comfortable. The passenger cabin features great visibility, plenty of space for five passengers and their gear, and a wealth of standard convenience features, such as a full-circle heated steering wheel, and a USB-A and USB-C port in the rear centre console. The list of available amenities includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear selector, a wireless phone charger (on the Touring trim level and up), and soft-touch materials and silver accents (for the Limited, Limited XT and Premier XT trim levels). The Onyx trim level features all-weather rubber floor mats, all-weather soft-touch seating surfaces, alloy pedals and a rear bumper step pad. On the even more adventurous Outback Wilderness™, the interior features exclusive anodized copper accent stitching, all-weather rubber floor mats and all-weather soft-touch upholstery with geometric pattern.
Safety
The SRVD system incorporates three distinct functions: Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. Blind Spot Detection identifies vehicles that may be travelling in your blind spot. Lane Change Assist signals when vehicles are approaching quickly from adjacent lanes. The Rear Cross-Traffic Alert function chimes in when vehicles are approaching from either side, such as when you’re reversing out of a parking space or driveway. The LED indicators for the SRVD system are located inside of the side mirrors’ housing for improved visibility.
