EyeSight^®Advanced Driver Assist System

The latest generation of this award-winning active safety system is standard on all versions of the Legacy. The system utilizes two cameras to monitor activity on the road ahead, help identify potential danger and provide assistance to the driver when needed most.

Rearview camera with dynamic guidelines

When you select reverse, this camera projects an image of what’s behind the Legacy onto the centre console screen. The rearview camera is located close to the centre of the vehicle and captures a wide view to ensure a more natural image that’s free of distortion. The useful dynamic guide lines feature show the driver which direction to turn the steering wheel, making the act of reversing easier than ever.

Vehicle Dynamics Control system (VDC)

The standard VDC^† system is equipped with advanced sensors to monitor and analyze if the vehicle is following the driver’s intended course. When the limits of stability are approached, the system automatically adjusts the AWD torque distribution, engine output and brakes at each wheel to help the driver take corrective action.

^† VDC is also known as electronic stability control.

Awards and Accolades

Since 2006, the Subaru Legacy has been awarded the Best Safety Choice or Better from the IIHS each year. The approach that garnered these accolades was also used for this new version, in which security is called to reach new heights. The new Legacy has a light and rigid platform, providing increased strength and superior safety for all occupants.
