Standard on all Legacy models, the reverse automatic braking system detects people or objects behind the vehicle and automatically applies the brakes if a collision seems imminent. The system also incorporates a warning feature with different alarm patterns depending on how far the Legacy is from the person or object.

The SRVD is another advanced safety feature that’s standard on all Legacy models. It has three distinct functions: Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Blind Spot Detection identifies vehicles behind the C-pillars and in other blind spots, while Lane Change Assist detects vehicles from behind approaching quickly in an adjacent lane. Using a sensor in the back of the vehicle, Rear Cross Traffic Alert signals drivers of approaching vehicles while reversing as out of a parking space or driveway.
